iWantGreatCare Awarded New Contract By First Community Health and Care

iWantGreatCare (iWGC) is very pleased to announce that it has been awarded a new two and a half year contract by First Community Health and Care, an employee-owned social enterprise, providing community healthcare services to people living in East Surrey and parts of West Sussex.

The new arrangement ensures iWGC will continue as First Community’s patient experience partner until March 2024 and enable First Community, which is celebrating its tenth birthday this year and rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, to take full advantage of iWGC’s multi-channel platform to collect feedback from patients and gain insights from what they are saying in order to make improvements.

All feedback is transparently shared with the public via the iWGC website, enabling First Community to further engage with its local population and demonstrate the quality of the care they provide.

Jon Ota, Chief Nurse and Director of Quality and People at First Community, said: “We have worked closely with iWGC for several years and this new contract is an opportunity to further develop our patient feedback service to ensure that we gather meaningful feedback on the outstanding care that we deliver. iWGC shares our commitment to openness, honesty and continual improvement, and we are excited to continue working with them.”

Feedback given on the iWGC platform has been used to enhance services delivered by First Community’s clinicians and drive improvements in a range of service areas including children’s services, on the ward at their community hospital and more generally in customer services.

For example, feedback from a family whose child had missed a health visiting appointment due to the pandemic, led First Community to increase the number of opportunities for families with infants to have meetings with a health visitor.

Additionally, feedback from a patient who said that they struggled to access a virtual appointment, resulted in a review of the information sent to patients ahead of online appointments to ensure joining instructions were clear and they knew who to contact in the event of any difficulties.

Jon Twinn, Managing Director of iWantGreatCare said: "We are delighted to be awarded this new contract from one of our longest-standing partners. First Community have, for years, pioneered an open and transparent approach to listening to and learning from their patients. Thanks to our continued partnership, I have no doubt that the insights that the iWGC platform will be able to provide the First Community team over the coming years, will lead to significant and lasting quality improvements for the people of East Surrey and West Sussex."
