iWantGreatCare and Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust announce strategic partnership

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

iWantGreatCare (iWGC) and Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are delighted to announce their strategic partnership to deliver a best-in-class patient experience measure for the Trust’s patients, staff and partners.

Berkshire Healthcare is a leading Community and Mental Health Trust serving a diverse community of service users and their families. The Trust is committed to ensuring that its services are developed and improved by patients’ and carers’ experience and involvement.

Patient experience is one of Berkshire Healthcare’s four key strategic objectives. This requires a consistent measure of experience across all services, allowing for comparison and benchmarking with data accessible by all key stakeholders, enabling measurable quality improvement.

The Trust’s ambition is to become the best in the country for patient experience, one of the main reasons they chose iWGC as their strategic partner.

Debbie Fulton, Director of Nursing and Therapies said:

“We chose iWantGreatCare because of their experience within mental health and community settings and their understanding of the need to measure what matters in a consistent and comprehensive way. Together, we are developing a measure that is not only able to listen to the patient voice but also translate it into meaningful insights and quality improvements.”

iWGC will use its expertise to co-design the strategy with Berkshire Healthcare, working closely with its staff and service users. The new Patient Experience Measure will then be built, using iWGC’s specialist technical platform, to collect data and analyse results that deliver insights to all key stakeholders within the organisation.

A key aspect of the solution will be the real time nature of the data. All services across Berkshire Healthcare will be able to access detailed analytics of what their service users are saying in real time, enabling Trust staff to be responsive and to focus on what truly matters to service users at that moment in time. The solution will also provide ways for every service user and their families to provide feedback, ensuring a voice representative of the local population is heard.

Jon Twinn, Managing Director of iWGC, said:

“We are delighted to be working with Berkshire Healthcare. Patient experience is a true priority for the Trust, and it shines through at all levels of the organisation. When launched, I have no doubt that this will be one of the best examples not only nationally but globally of how a healthcare system should measure and understand its service users.”

An initial roll-out of the system is planned for late 2021.
